Place or Building Name (simple search only)

If you are looking for memorials in a particular place or know the name of the building where it is located, enter its name here.  For example, if you were looking for memorials in Cardiff, you could enter “cardiff” in this field.

 

War (simple and advanced search)

If you want to find memorials commemorating a particular war, you can select the name of the war from this list to narrow the search.

 

Type (simple and advanced search)

This list contains the names of all the different types of memorials we have on record.  If you are looking for a particular type, or types, of memorial, select them from this list.  To select more than one type, hold down the "Ctrl" key while you make your selections.  If you want to de-select one of the types you have chosen, hold down the "Ctrl" key and click the name in the list.

 

UKNIWM Ref No (advanced search only)

If you know the UKNIWM reference number of the memorial you are interested in, enter it in this field.  The reference number uniquely identifies a memorial.

 

Country (advanced search only)

If you know the name of the name of the country in which the memorial is located, enter it here.

 

County (advanced search only)

If you know the name of the name of the county in which the memorial is located, enter it here.

 

District (advanced search only)

If you know the name of the name of the district in which the memorial is located, enter it here.

 

City / Town / Village (advanced search only)

If you know the name of the name of the city, town or village in which the memorial is located, enter it here.

 

Street (advanced search only)

If you know the name of the name of the street in which the memorial is located, enter it here.

 

Building or Other Location / Site (advanced search only)
