Physical Description
Granite pedestal surmonted by barehead kilted Highland soldier with bandolier, blanket and water bottle slung across his shoulders. Figure stands with his rifle at the ready. Inscription is on bronze plaques attached to the sides of the pedestal.
Regimental badge depicted in relief at the top centre of the dedicatory plaque.

2006 onwards: A full maintenance programme including annual waxing of the figure has been implemented.
2005-2006: Statue was removed in NOvember 2005 for repair work which involved repairing cracks, removing rust and repatinating it. The figure was replaced in May 2006. |
