Comments: REF: GWYNEDD F.H.S ' LIST OF MEMORIALS - BLAENAU FFESTINIOG' WINDOW WAS ERECTED BY SIR GEOFFREY CLARK WHOSE DAUGHTER AND HER TWO CHILDREN WERE KILLED. THE PLANE THEY WERE FLYING ON WAS SHOT DOWN IN THE BAY OF BISCAY ON-ROUTE FROM AMERICA TO BRITAIN WHERE THEY WERE REJOINING HER HUSBAND. NO TRACE OF THE AIRCRAFT OR SURVIVORS WAS EVER FOUND. SIR GEOFFREY DECIDED TO ERECT THE MEMORIAL IN BLAENAU FFESTINIOG AS HIS LOCAL CHURCH IN LONDON HAD BEEN DESTROYED AND SOMEONE SUGGESTED HE ERECT IT IN NORTH WALES AS HE FEARED ALL OTHER LONDON CHURCHES WOULD SUFFER THE SAME FATE EVENTUALLY.
