Co-ordinator's Comments:

EVIDENCE SEEMS TO SUGGEST THAT THE CWGC STONES ARE NOT GENUINE BUT HAVE BEEN DESIGNED AS PART OF THE MEMORIAL. (1) THEY ARE SET INTO THE WALL RATHER THAN MARKING ANY APPARENT GRAVE SITE. (2) THEY HAVE BEEN PAINTED. THE PAINT IS PEELING AND THE STONES APPEAR TO BE CONCRETE RATHER THAN PORTLAND STONE UNDERNEATH. (3) THEY APPEAR QUITE CRUDE EG THEY HAVE FLAT TOPS RATHER THAN THE SLIGHT CURVE MORE COMMON ON CWGC STONES
