TWO PLAQUES ON EITHER SIDE - THESE WALLS RECORD THE NAMES OF 608 MEN / OF TAMWORTH AND NEIGHBOURHOOD WHO / GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE WAR OF 1914-1918 / NAMES UNDER EACH DISTRICT IN TAMWORTH

Physical Description

WARD WING AND OUT-PATIENTS HALL WITH DEDICATORY PLAQUES AND LISTS OF THE FALLEN INSIDE THE HALL. MAIN MEMORIAL TABLET IS BRONZE. OVER THE INSCRIPTION IS A RELIEF CROSS WITH LAUREL RELIEF. AT REACH CORNER IS AN ENGLISH ROSE. TWO FURTHER BRONZE TABLETS ON EACH SIDE OF THE ENTRANCE TO THE HALL BEAR THE NAMES OF THE MEN WHO DIED.
